Beech Grove to host "Night Out"

Beech Grove residents are invited to turn on their outdoor lights and turn out to visit with their police officers and neighbors Aug. 3 for the 27th Annual National Night Out for crime and drug prevention.Officers and members of the Beech Grove Eagles Lodge 4167 will host a cookout from 6 to 9 p.m., with free hot dogs, in the Eagles' parking lot, 712 Main Street, according to a Beech Grove release. Officers will be available to talk with residents, distribute DNA kits and other safety items and toys for children. Officers also will be on bicycle patrols in designated neighborhoods that evening. Residents throughout Beech Grove and across the U.S. are asked to lock their doors and turn on outside lights during the National Night Out.

This is a great way to meet the officers that keep this city safe and to send a message to criminals that Beech Grove is organized and fighting back.
